Doug started his career in IT has a network operator at the Standard Bank of South Africa, and in 1986 was appointed as Head of Network Operations for the bank.
From there he joined the Communications R&D Department heading the team focused on capacity planning and remote communications technology.
He then moved to Cisco Systems South Africa to head up the Systems Engineering team and in 1996 was appointed as Regional Managing Director of Nortel Networks.
Doug has also led sales teams at Nokia Networks, Computer Sciences Corporation as well as serving as Regional GM for Neotel in the Western Cape.
In 2014, Doug moved to Dubai to re-join Microsoft as the Sales Enablement Director for Middle East, Africa and India before moving back to South Africa in 2018 to take up his current role as Head of IT for Microsoft Middle East and Africa.
