I started my career at Space Age Technologies in Stellenbosch as IT technician in 2002 and gained valuable experience in the Microsoft side of things.
In 2007 I moved to Bloemfontein and worked for a national ICT services provider. During my time at the national ICT provider I focussed on providing and implementing multiple large scale projects with the main focus on infrastructure.
I was quickly transferred to Pretoria in order to maintain and grow my focus on the mining sector, Department of Defence and additional large JSE listed companies which brought about a vast amount of knowledge and experience in the infrastructure side of IT.
Many of the companies were multi-national which allowed me to spend quite a bit of time some of the most challenging countries in Africa. In 2013 the opportunity came up to join GWK in the agriculture sector as the Head of IT Operational Services.
Coming from a company where I provided solutions and worked on multiple large clients and now having to focus on only one company force me to change the way I looked at IT.
At GWK the goal is to provide a reliable and effective platform to the business with a lean team.
To unlock efficiencies and have a lean team perform optimally forced me to realise how critical it is to automate as many processes and change from a reactive to pro-active service provider.
